I am currently obsessed with all things Oxford, and needed a comfortable flat to wear to work where I am constantly on my feet, running too and fro about the store. These are now my favorite pair of shoes. I bought them in Cognac, and not only are they beautiful, adorable, and delightfully menswear-inspired, they are also incredibly comfortable. I'm a size 7.5, and the shoes fit true to size. Though I consider my feet to be a bit on the wide side, I had absolutely no trouble with these...I barely had to break them in, and there has been no blistering or discomfort of any kind. It's true that the soles are a bit thin, but that's nothing a Dr. Scholl's insert can't fix.
These have been such a good investment that I'm planning on buying a few more of the colors, and I only do that with items that are timeless and gorgeous.
I wear these to work almost every day, and not only to they complete my outfits, but they can withstand an eight-hour shift.

I usually look for a better-made, more expensive shoe that I can wear for several seasons. I have found in general that Steve Madden tends to offer good designs but his shoes often compromise in quality --the leather is usually thin, the soles man-made, etc. In the past I have found that this compromise makes sense and is something that I can live with for a knock-about pair or something to wear for a few times with one outfit....
But when I recieved the black and white spectators, they had to go right back, even though they fit. The leather is so shiny that it looks cheap, and the leather on the shoe, especially the white portions, is VERY wrinkled, particularly on one shoe! It looks like poor, hasty craftmanship to me. These particular shoes should never have passed inspection at the factory. Basically, these shoes look VERY different in person than they do in the photos!

Although these shoes LOOK really nice, they are made of very cheap material. After only three or four times wearing them, the front of the shoes are almost completely worn down and peeling. They are also not the most comfortable shoes either. For the price of these shoes I would expect a better made shoe.

What a great looking shoe! Comfortable......well made, true to a vintage look and feel. It will be great with the 1930's early 40's styles that I love......but totally fits in today's looks. I ordered the grey which has a trace of beige in it. Is "greige" a color? It will go well with many others....and I understand grey is one of "the" colors for this fall. However, I believe this color can work year round.
If your foot runs just a tad on the narrower side but a medium is usually the better fit, I would recommend that you order it in narrow. Follow the size guide for determining the proper size (length) of your foot and the shoe should fit well.
I hope these are available in the spring as I want the black & white spectator too. Actually I'd love it in all the colors.

I ordered these in the silver/gold color from [...] and, like S. Hagberg, I found them to be sized much smaller than marked. I know Steve Madden shoes tend to be sized small, so I ordered up a full size, but they were still too small. When I placed them next to my black Steve Madden Melins in the same size, the difference was very apparent. The Tuxedo Oxfords were noticeably shorter and narrower. The shoes were beautiful but I had to return them.
