4Edgy... slippery  Nov 13, 2010 By Kipper
These are great for urban warriors on dry cement, but watch out if you hit any slippery substance, zero traction. But you'll look really cool and edgy flopping around on your arse in the mud.

I like 'em - alot. There is one sharp area at the inside top seam/zipper, which means you'll have to wear socks higher than the height of the boot.

1total disappointment  Oct 24, 2011 By sj
I was so excited about these boots! I couldn't wait for them to get here and when they did and I opened the box it was a complete let down. As soon as I took the paper out of the boots I noticed that the soles looked funny. As I proceeded to check out the boots I noticed that the bottom of the boots had white size numbers which stuck me as odd. Anyway I then noticed that they said "made in India". For anyone that has bought Steve Madden shoes, you'll know that his shoes are made in China. I looked at this boot in the store and the boot I received was a different shoe. A fake shoe. If you really want this shoe, order it from Steve Madden. The ones from Amazon run small and aren't made well. Hope this helps future buyers!

5Wonderful Boots!  Nov 12, 2010 By SV
These boots are adorable and comfortable. I ordered a size 8 from Amazon and they fit me like a size 7-7.5 so I had to return them. I ended up buying a pair of size 9 from eBay (more expensive, but the size 9 was no longer available on Amazon) and they fit perfectly with some extra room at the toe. Since they run about half to one size smaller than the Amazon sizing chart, order a half or a whole size up from your usual. They have just a *tiny* pinch of arch support and are therefore not totally flat like a lot of designer boots, so they make for a comfortable, quality and stylish travel boot if you're on your feet a lot. Also, the ones sent from eBay had repainted soles and were quite a bit stretchier in the leather siding (ankle up) than the ones from Amazon, making me suspect that either the boots were slightly used/a display pair, or that the construction varies a bit depending on the size.

UPDATE: The soles are indeed quite smooth (as you can see in the picture of the shoe from below) and provide little traction on slippery surfaces, but no less than other shoes, namely heels or ballet flats, tend to have. So you have to be mindful of your walking if it's slick out, like you would with heels, flats or other mainly dressy shoes. A better boot would have more grip, but that might mean looking at a higher price if you want something similar in appearance. After wearing these for about 6 months while my joint condition has worsened, I can say that these lovelies have saved my ankles through providing some stability there. However, my feet are getting flatter and that *tiny* pinch of support doesn't cut it for me anymore. I've thrown in some Dr. Scholl's, and although it was a close fit at first, it's really working for me now. So if your tootsies pronate (roll inwards at the instep), you might (depending on your level of discomfort) plan on getting an insert. That may or may not effect the size to order; if you are in such a position, you might want to consider getting the inserts first to determine which shoe size would be best.

1Cheap version of boots in picture  May 15, 2011 By oona
Be warned that these are nothing like the boots in the photo. Maybe one time they were high quality, but now they're just ripoffs. The zippers aren't metal but plastic and the leather is so cheap it doesn't even look real. They need to be rephotographed so that people aren't misled.

5Amazing boots!  Feb 01, 2011 By Stephanie Junca
I love shopping at Amazon just grand... I ordered these Wednesday night and I received them today Monday. But anyways, I pulled the boots out and was a little skeptical at first. Then I slipped them on and I was so surprised how comfortable they were! I ordered a half size up like people said and I'm happy I did. Otherwise my toes would have been crammed. I walked around the house with them on just b/c they are so nice and comfy! They are made really well too... The only complaint I have is there is no tread on the bottom. There is on the heel a bit but not on the front soles. I have other boots that were like this as well so I just got these grippy things that they sell at shoe stores. I also heard that non-skid tape works well. I may buy some tape and give it a try b/c the little shoe grippy things do not last long and have to be replaced after a short period of time.
But anyways, if you have been eyeing these boots... go for it you will not regret it! Just great!
